White supremacy & capitalism want us to feel like we're alone, like we have to prioritize money over everything else, and like we have to always make perfect money decisions on the first try.

We can resist that with education, intentionality, and connection.

My goal is not just to teach you how the money games are played, but also to help you bend the rules so that we're using our money more collectively.

You've always made the best decisions you could with what you had. I'm not here to judge you, shame you, or even tell you what to do. I'm here to help you gain knowledge, skills, and tools, that will allow you to use your resources more intentionally toward the life you want to be living.

Hi, I'm River

I got into the finance world after helping a loved one navigate credit card debt that came from a gender transition. My natural gift of a "spreadsheet brain" combined with the financial education that came from my racial & socioeconomic privilege set me up to be able to serve my community in this way.

Since 2017, I've helped over 300 clients take control of their own money to build better lives for themselves and their communities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know if I can afford this?

I'd love to help you figure it out! Book a free consultation with me, and we'll talk through your financial situation to see if paying for this class is the right move for you.

When does the class meet each week?

This will be decided by November 1st. Everyone who registers by October 25th can share their availability with me, and I'll schedule class time so that those early folks are able to attend.

What if I have to miss one or more sessions?

Most folks miss 2-3 out of the 12 sessions. I typically share the session recording, slides, and highlights within 48 hours. I encourage you to have Slack open while you watch a recording, so that you can ask questions and participate in the discussion asychronously.

Can I bring my spouse/sibling/friend?

Pricing in this program is per person, because I am managing the number of personalities in the room. Of course I want you to bring your new knowledge and skills back to your family, but please register each person who will be participating in the live program.

The upcoming cohort doesn't work for me. How often do you run the program?

I typically run TCYM 3 times per year: March-ish, July-ish, and November-ish.

I live outside the US. Can I participate in this program?

Unfortunately I would not recommend it! While budgeting and resisting capitalism are valuable in any location or currency, a large portion of what we'll talk about (insurance, buying property, investing) is US-specific.
