Take Control
Of Your Money
How to Create an
Unshakeable Financial Foundation
12-week program starting in November 2023
Do you want to feel more in CONTROL of your finances and feel less MONEY SHAME?
So, you're finally making more money than just what you need to survive, but nobody ever taught you what to do with it. Or even if you did get a chance to learn, that information doesn't feel aligned with your values and goals.
Good news: this program was designed for you!
After working with over 200 clients, I realized most of us need the same foundation. I built this course to not just teach financial literacy and logistics, but also to help you move through your avoidance and take the steps you need!
Create a PLAN for what you will do
with your money on the day-to-day.
Understand WHY you are doing what you are doing with your money!
Here’s what you can expect…
This is a 12-week program starting in November 2023.
Once a week, 90-minute live group calls.
Context and Mindset
This is the foundation of this course! You'll have a hard time making progress financially without understanding the context of your mindset and the world we live in. This course prioritizes how we feel about money, so that you'll actually be able to form new habits that serve you better!
How to talk about Money
One of the biggest pitfalls is not knowing how to effectively talk to your partner or the people in your life about money. Learn and practice alongside the rest of your cohort!
Budgeting
If you’ve ever wondered, “Where has my money gone?”, this course is for you! We’ll spend several weeks on budgeting so you will never have to ask yourself that question again!
Budgeting isn't about restrictions. It's about using the resources you have available to prioritize what's most important to you. You'll walk away with a clear plan to manage your debt, save for your goals, and enjoy life at the same time!
Investing
What even is investing, and why is it important? Can it be ethical? Why does everyone keep talking about Roth IRAs and 401(k)s? Do I need to learn about Bitcoin?
We'll answer all of these questions, and more!
Credit & Buying a House
Learn about the credit score system, and how to achieve the goal of buying or renovating a house!
Insurance: How to protect yourself
How much should you actually have in emergency savings? How does disability insurance work? Learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones!
Ready to join a community of peers and reduce your money shame?
While the program is open to all, it is especially welcoming
to queer women and non-binary folks in their 20s and 30s.
Time is built in for reflection and discussion about how we feel about money,
and how capitalism is harming us and all marginalized people.
An unshakeable financial foundation is possible...
AND is within your reach!
Financial planning is an investment that you choose to make in yourself, that can help you to earn, save, and grow exponentially more money for the rest of your life.
For example:
If you are 30 years old, single, renting, and making $60K at a W-2 job, then you take home about $3200 most months.
Let's imagine some monthly expenses (obviously these may be slightly different for you):
$1K for rent
$200 for electric, gas, internet, etc.
$100 for cell phone
$700 for car payment, car insurance, car gas, car maintenance (or closer to $250 if you don't have a loan to pay)
$400 for groceries and pet care
$50 for streaming services
That leaves about $750 / month for ordering food, having fun, and planning for the future.
If you are 30 years old and you have $750 of discretionary money each month, you could invest $300 - 500 / month, for 3-6 months, toward your capacity for financial growth. You could see the return on that investment for the rest of your life. And it only costs half of your discretionary money for a few months!
Most people (I've worked with over 200 clients) are wasting time and money because they haven't looked closely enough at their money and their habits. That can look like:
It's not an exaggeration to say this can add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars lost over the next 30 years! This is how people who make decent money still struggle to buy a house, travel, change careers, and retire.
If you're not sure how your specific numbers add up,
schedule a free info session with me and I'll walk through your specific numbers
and recommend what the best path forward is for you!
